Embrace new chances at happiness

New chances. Fresh starts. A new day, new job, new life, new relationship, or just a new start. They barge in the front door with the beautiful promise of a second chance. The promise of new potential and unexpected opportunity. They also can come with heartache, because new beginnings nearly always follow endings. Isn’t it exciting though? To think about what can happen when you’re standing at the beginning of something brand new.

New beginnings give us a chance to work towards what we really want. They give us a chance to let go of the past, focus firmly on a bright new future. To commit to moving forward. Fresh starts are a great time for reflection but more importantly for planning, goal setting and for having fun in the moment! Granted new beginnings can be a little scary, but there’s no doubt they can also be exciting, joyous and somewhat thrilling!

Change can bring about a lot of anxiety, especially change that we didn’t initiate or ask for. And honestly, even when you’re the one who quit the job or chose to leave the relationship, or decided to go on the trip, when the pieces of your life are shifting around, it’s normal to feel at least a little out of control.

Like everything else in life, it all depends on how you choose to look at it.

Yesterday I chose to end of a chapter in my life. The decision to leave my current company that I loved and take another position was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve made to date. It shook me to the core. There was every emotion possible and I feel physically and emotionally drained!

I’m truly stepping out in blind faith and trusting God to lead me and that this is what’s best for myself and my family.

As I am off to start this new chapter in my life I’m nervous, yet so excited. I can’t wait to see what is next. They say the best is yet to come.
